How we use information when you browse

You can read the site without creating an account or entering your name. Cloudflare hosts and delivers these pages. In providing that service, Cloudflare processes technical information that can include IP addresses and traffic routing information. Its privacy policy, including the section on End Users, explains its handling of that information.

The website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so the practice can tell which information people find useful. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) that tell repeat visits apart, and it records the page address, the page you came from, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Google states that it uses the IP address for that approximate location and for spam detection, never associates raw IP addresses with user identifiers, and discards raw IP addresses after use (Google's description of IP address usage). The website does not send your name, email address, phone number, or anything you type into a form or the booking scheduler to Google Analytics, and the practice does not use Google Analytics to identify individual visitors. Google's privacy policy and its page on how Google uses information from sites that use its services describe Google's handling of this information. You can prevent Google Analytics from running in your browser with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or with a browser or extension that blocks its script.

The website does not run advertising pixels or session recordings. Search in the knowledge library, research library and condition index filters information already on the page within your browser. The website does not send those search terms to an analytics service or save them in an account.

Booking an appointment online

Online booking on this website is provided by Aloha, the practice's scheduling and patient communication system. When you book, the scheduler asks for your name, email address, mobile phone number and date of birth, the appointment time you choose, and an optional note. That information goes from your browser directly to the practice through Aloha, which connects to the practice's records system. This website does not receive or store it.

Loading the booking page connects your browser to Aloha's servers, which can disclose technical information such as your IP address and the address of the page you are on. The scheduler also keeps small items in your browser's local storage, such as the step you reached and where a booking started, so a booking can resume. The note field is optional; you can discuss your health concerns with the team at your visit.

You can also call the practice to book. Clicking a telephone link opens your device's calling application; it does not submit anything through this website.

Text messages

The practice uses Aloha to send text messages about appointments, feedback requests and office notifications. We will not sell, share, or rent your mobile opt-in data to any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Our text-message terms explain message types, frequency, rates, how to get help and how to stop messages at any time by texting STOP.

Patient paperwork

The patient paperwork page provides a downloadable form to print and bring to your appointment. This website does not accept uploads of completed paperwork. Please do not send completed health forms, detailed symptoms, insurance identifiers, or medical records through ordinary email, text message or a public review. Call the practice to arrange an appropriate way to share them.

Embedded videos, maps, and reviews

Some pages offer videos, maps, or review tools supplied by other companies. These embedded tools load when you choose their load control. Activating a tool connects your browser to its provider and can disclose technical information, such as your IP address. Providers may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies. Opening a direct external link also connects you to that website.

YouTube and Google Maps are covered by Google's privacy policy. The Review Us page uses an external review service. Review the notice displayed by any external service before entering information. Public reviews can be visible to other people; avoid including private health details.

Your choices about cookies and external websites

You can leave an embedded tool unloaded and continue reading the page. Your browser settings let you manage cookies and other site storage, including the Google Analytics cookies described above; blocking those cookies stops Google Analytics from telling your visits apart but does not stop a page view from being counted, which is what the opt-out add-on above is for. The site reads normally either way. Blocking third-party content may prevent a video, map, or review tool from working. You can still call the practice using the details on the contact page.

Links to research, directions, and external services take you to websites with their own privacy practices. This website's notice does not govern those services.
